About Legacy Studios

Legacy Studios is the official after-school theatre program of New Haven Academy, a college-preparatory public high school in the New Haven Public Schools district. Serving one of the city's most diverse student communities, Legacy Studios exists to cultivate confident artists, compassionate leaders, and engaged citizens through the transformative power of theatre.

At Legacy Studios, we believe every student has a story worth telling. Our mission is to Develop, Inspire, and Perform—equipping students with the artistic training, confidence, and collaborative skills necessary to thrive both on and off the stage while embracing New Haven Academy's core values: Think Critically. Be Responsible. Get Involved.

As an educational theatre program, we are committed to producing bold, meaningful, and socially relevant work that reflects the voices of our students and the community we serve. Through professional-level theatrical experiences, students are challenged to grow as performers, technicians, musicians, designers, and leaders while discovering the impact the arts can have on the world around them.

Each season, Legacy Studios presents a dynamic lineup of productions and educational opportunities, including:

• Two full-length plays

• One full-length Broadway musical

• Student-directed productions and showcases

• Cabarets, special events, and community performances

• Leadership, technical theatre, and performance training
